Day 1 – Welcome to Japan! Tokyo Time
Get ready to experience Tokyo with One Life. Upon landing, settle into your hostel and take some time to relax until the evening. Tonight, we’ll treat you to a delicious Japanese meal and introduce you to the rest of the group. After dinner, when the bustling crowds have subsided, you’ll venture out to experience the enchanting Tokyo Senso-ji Temple illuminated by night.

Day 2 - Explore Tokyo: Harajuku, Yoyogi Park & Akihabara
Let’s kick off the morning with a Japan Orientation Briefing where you’ll pick up some basic Japanese customs and phrases to help you on your journey. Then, you will journey to the epicentre of Japanese teen pop culture, Harajuku. Following that, explore the serene beauty of Yoyogi Park, home to the magnificent Meiji Shrine.
Next up, dive into the vibrant energy of Akihabara, Tokyo’s electric town, where you’ll be dazzled by neon lights and a plethora of quirky shops. Feel free to challenge each other in the arcades, experience the unique charm of Maid Cafes, or simply wander around and soak in the atmosphere.

Day 3 - Tokyo: Sushi Making Class & Shibuya Crossing
After breakfast in the morning, the group will embark on an exclusive sushi-making class. You’ll have the opportunity to master the art of preparing Miso soup, crafting three types of sushi, and uncovering the secrets behind Teriyaki sauce. For those with dietary preferences, a vegetarian option is available. Please notify your guide or One Life at least a week before the tour begins.
In the evening, you’ll venture to Shinjuku, where you’ll witness the unparalleled skyline of Tokyo. Explore the renowned Omoide Yokocho Alley and enjoy dinner before experiencing the iconic Shibuya Pedestrian Crossing.

How does the Snapshot Tour relate to your longer tours?
Our Tokyo Snapshot Tour is a 4-day itinerary that captures the essence of Tokyo. It is designed as the introductory segment of both our 10-day and 14-day Japan tours. This means that during the Tokyo Snapshot Tour, you’ll explore alongside guests who may be continuing on to other destinations in Japan after your tour ends. The modular structure allows for a seamless and cohesive travel experience, whether you’re with us for just 4 days or the entire journey.
What fitness level is required to join this tour?
This tour requires a reasonable level of fitness due to the amount of walking involved. There will be some days where you will be walking more than 20,000 steps so please bring appropriate footwear.
How much free time will I have?
While there is free time allocated during our time in Tokyo to explore each area a little further, there isn’t enough free time for bigger activities unless you miss some of the inclusions. We suggest saving anything additional you want to do in Tokyo until after your Snapshot tour.
Can I bring a suitcase on this trip & is there a luggage limit?
Yes you can. You will be staying at the same accommodation for the entirety of this tour so you’re able to have whatever luggage type you’d like.
I'm arriving late on day 1, will this be a problem?
Arriving late is not a problem at all, but you will miss the welcome dinner and night walk at Senso-ji Temple. Given this tour is just four days, we advise you to be in Tokyo earlier on Day 1.
We are travelling together, can we upgrade to have a private room?
Yes, we will be staying in Twin rooms. Please let our team know who you’re travelling with after you’ve booked, if you’ve booked separately.
Can I book a single upgrade on this tour?
We are unfortunately not able to offer a single supplement for our Tokyo Snapshot tour, simply because it’s extremely difficult to find a single room. Almost every room is a twin so it would essentially mean the guest would need to cover the cost of two people to be able to have a room to themselves. However, we will absolutely try and put you with another solo traveler.
I've already done a One Life Japan tour, should I book the Tokyo Snapshot?
We don’t advise repeat guests to book this tour. It is essentially the first four days of our other Japan tours and visits the same locations. Why not check out one of our other destinations like South Korea or Vietnam?
What time can I fly out on the last day?
For departures from any Tokyo Airport, we recommend booking flights no earlier than 11.00 am. Travel time is approximately 1 hour to Narita Airport and 1,5 hours to Haneda Airport.
