FAQs

Before embarking on this unforgettable journey with us, we’d like to highlight a few key details. Nepal is a incredible destination filled with diverse experiences, but like many places in Asia, unexpected circumstances can arise. At One Life Adventures, we’re committed to delivering an exceptional experience. Should adjustments to the itinerary be necessary, we’ll ensure that any changes are equally exceptional!

Where do we spend the first night on tour?

The Florence Inn Hotel, New Delhi.

Where does the tour end?

On the final day you will return to Kathmandu in Nepal.

Where should I fly into and where should I fly out of?

Fly into New Delhi International Airport (DEL). After the tour you should fly home from Tribhuvan International Airport.

Will I be picked up from the airport?

Yes, if you arrive on Day 1 of the tour or if you book a prenight’s stay with us, you will have an airport pickup included with your tour. If you’re arriving earlier, please get in touch with us and we can help you arrange your pickup seperately.

How will we get from India to Nepal?

The tour cost includes your international flight from Delhi to Kathmandu including all transfers. The flight will happen on day 14 of the tour.
When booking, please ensure your name and full passport details are provided correctly.

How much spending money do I need for this tour?

Spending varies from person to person & you’ll receive a spending guide in your welcome pack, but $30-40 AUD per day is plenty on average.
Tipping is customary in India and Nepal, especially for good service at restaurants around 5-10% of the bill. We usually find it easier if your group leader says how much the tip should be and everyone can pitch in together to form a kitty which will cover you for any hotels or restaurants we visit on tour together.

Can I bring a 20kg suitcase on this trip?

We wouldn’t recommend bringing more than 15-20kg on this tour as it will be more comfortable for you to carry less.

What are travel times like during the trip?

You will take one overnight train during the trip which is about 10-12 hours. The train has comfortable cabins with A/C. The other travel times range between 1-6 hours and are on a combination of buses/trains or your international flight.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Restaurants and eateries in India and Nepal often offer vegetarian options, and it’s usually easy to find delicious and satisfying meals without meat. Please notify us prior to arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you.

Is there WiFi throughout the trip?

WiFi is available at accommodations during the trip, but it’s not reliable and we would recommend picking up a local SIM card on arrival if you need to be online. In the more remote locations of the trip, connection may be less reliable.

Is there safe drinking water in India and Nepal?

In both countries it’s generally recommended to drink bottled or purified water, especially for travellers. While some urban areas might have treated tap water that locals can drink safely, the quality and sanitation of water can vary widely across different regions and rural areas.

To stay safe, it’s best to drink bottled water or use water purification methods such as boiling, filtering, or using water purification tablets or drops. This precaution helps ensure that you have safe drinking water throughout your journey.

Are India and Nepal safe to travel?

Both India and Nepal are generally a safe and welcoming destination for travellers. It’s advisable to stay informed about local customs and respect cultural norms, especially in religious sites. We provide more details about this when you receive your welcome pack.

I am applying for my India visa and I need a reference and address?

Sure!

TravelXS, No.416, 4th Floor, Som Datt Champer-II, 9
Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi, 11066.
PHONE: +91 114 909 8660

What is the rooming situation like?

Accommodation on this tour you will be in a hostel, guest houses and a safari lodge in double/twin share rooms. Single upgrade is available.

Is the Australia Camp trek challenging?

The trek to Australia Camp involves a 5-6 hour hike that reaches an altitude of 2,065m. While this altitude is not typically associated with high-altitude illness (HAI), the oxygen levels are lower than at sea level, which can make the trek more strenuous for some individuals.

I have a respiratory condition (e.g., asthma). Can I still participate in the trek?

If you have a respiratory condition such as asthma, we recommend consulting your doctor prior to booking. The reduced oxygen levels at this altitude may have significant effects on individuals with respiratory issues.

Can I opt out of the trek if I don’t feel comfortable?

Yes! We want you to feel safe and comfortable throughout the tour.

How should I inform One Life Adventures about my medical condition?

When booking your tour, please mention any medical conditions in the provided health questionnaire. This helps us ensure your safety and comfort during the trip.
