Most visitors to India will need to apply for an e-visa online prior to arriving in India, however, this is heavily dependent on your country. Will I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance on all One Life Adventures trips is compulsory. Our group leader will be taking care of you from the moment you arrive, though things can happen which are out of our control. This is why we require everyone who travels with us to have their own travel insurance by the time they depart for the trip. You will have a much more enjoyable trip knowing that you are covered no matter what happens! When you are choosing your insurance policy, it’s important to make sure it covers the following things:

  • Adventure activities included in the tour
  • Medical expenses
  • Personal belongings (in cases of lost luggage or theft)
  • Missed flights

We recommend Nomads Insurance but it’s up to you which company you choose to get cover with. For more information see our Travel Insurance section on the FAQs page.

When is the best time to travel to India?

The best time to visit India is between October and March, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for exploring. This season is ideal for visiting popular regions like Rajasthan, Delhi, Agra, and Varanasi when there are clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

Is there safe drinking water in India?

Tap water in India is unfit for consumption, but each of our accommodations that we stay in provide bottled water in the rooms and it will be available to purchase. When buying bottled water you should always make sure it is sealed before opening.

Is India safe to travel?

Like all countries, appropriate caution is required as a traveller to keep yourself and your belongings safe. Provided you exercise the same caution you would in any other country and remain with the group it is perfectly safe to travel.

How much does it cost to travel in India?

India is one of the most affordable travel destinations in the world. Local meals, transport, and accommodation can be budget-friendly, especially outside major cities. That said, costs can vary depending on your travel style and the experiences you want. Our India group tours include transport, accommodation, activities, and some meals – making it easier to manage your budget while still getting the most out of your trip.
