Do I need a visa to travel to Japan?
Most visitors are issued a 90 day visa upon arrival, however you should check with your local embassy before you travel. Your passport must be valid the entire duration of your stay, you must have an onwards ticket, and you may be asked to show proof of sufficient funds for your trip.

Travel insurance on all One Life Adventures trips is compulsory. Our group leader will be taking care of you from the moment you arrive, though things can happen which are out of our control. This is why we require everyone who travels with us to have their own travel insurance by the time they depart for the trip. You will have a much more enjoyable trip knowing that you are covered no matter what happens! When you are choosing your insurance policy, it’s important to make sure it covers the following things:

  • Adventure activities included in the tour
  • Medical expenses
  • Personal belongings (in cases of lost luggage or theft)
  • Missed flights

We advise you to check with your local Japanese consulate or embassy to get the most up-to-date details.

Should I use a card or cash in Japan?
In Japan, cash is still more commonly used. You can change money at the airport or use ATMs throughout the tour. Lots of places however do accept credit card payments, so you should notify your card provider that you are travelling to Japan before leaving to avoid any potential disruption to your trip when you want to use this method of payment.
Can I drink the tap water in Japan?
Yes, Japan has drinkable tap water, so make sure you bring a refillable water bottle to save yourself buying water all the time!
What is the weather like in Japan?
Japan has distinctive seasons, be aware that temperatures can drop in March-May/October- November & can be extremely hot during July/August.
Should I bring a rain jacket?
Yes, it’s handy to bring a rain jacket when visiting at any point throughout the year, we all know the weather in Asia can be unpredictable!
