Destination FAQs

Do I need a visa to travel to India?
Most visitors to India can apply for an e-visa online prior to arriving in India, however, this is heavily dependent on your country. You should always check with your local consulate or embassy for the most up to date information regarding your country of origin. You can use this site to apply – https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.

Please note, you must apply for this e-visa before you begin your journey to India. You will also need an onwards ticket exiting the country. You must have both of these things printed out (the e-visa and the onward flight ticket) to present at check-in and immigration.

I am applying for my visa and I need a reference and address?

Travel insurance on all One Life Adventures trips is compulsory. Our group leader will be taking care of you from the moment you arrive, though things can happen which are out of our control. This is why we require everyone who travels with us to have their own travel insurance by the time they depart for the trip. You will have a much more enjoyable trip knowing that you are covered no matter what happens! When you are choosing your insurance policy, it’s important to make sure it covers the following things:

  • Adventure activities included in the tour
  • Medical expenses
  • Personal belongings (in cases of lost luggage or theft)
  • Missed flights
What is the weather like in India?
March-May is Summer and can get exceedingly hot in some areas. June-October is monsoon season, November-February sees much cooler temperature and can feel cold at nighttime. Due to pollution in some areas, we recommend bringing a face mask.
Is there safe drinking water in India?
Tap water in India is unfit for consumption, but each of our accommodations that we stay in provide bottled water in the rooms and it will be available to purchase. When buying bottled water you should always make sure it is sealed before opening.
Is India safe to travel?
Like all countries, appropriate caution is required as a traveller to keep yourself and your belongings safe. Provided you exercise the same caution you would in any other country and remain with the group it is perfectly safe to travel.
