Females Flying Solo Morocco Tour – 8 Days

Today is all about immersing yourself in the vibrant energy of Marrakech. First, we’ll start at visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden, a stunning garden filled with exotic plants before you make your way to the iconic Yves Saint Laurent Museum, a place where haute couture & art meets Moroccan culture. This afternoon, you’ll take a guided tour of the old Medina. You’ll visit iconic spots like Jemaa El Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque (from the outside), the magnificent Bahia Palace and the souk.

You’ll end the day with a treat to a Hamman Spa to wind down with a glass of Moroccan mint tea.

If you’ve opt in for the hot air balloon ride, start the day with scenic views of Marrakech. A once-in-a-lifetime experience of Marrakech early in the day. After lunch you will then cruise through the charming Rose Valley on the way to your next location. Your day will wrap up checking in to a cosy hotel in Dades Valley, just in time to catch the beautiful sunset over the magical scenery.

It’s time to hit the road again. This time you’re off to the majestic Sahara Desert. But there are a few stops to make along the way. First up, the quirky Monkey Toes rock formation in Dades Valley – you’ll want to snap a few pics of this. Then, you’ll explore the stunning Todra Valley and Gorges in Tinghir. It will feel like stepping into a painting.

Next, prepare for a camel ride like no other. You’ll ride the ‘ships of the desert’ right over the dunes of the Sahara, finally reaching your desert camp for the night. Your unique campsite is complete with glamping tents and a bonfire, where local Berbers will entertain us with traditional music under the stars. This night is one for the memory books.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise near the camp if you want to make the most of this unique camping spot. You’ll fuel up with breakfast before heading off on a 4WD desert adventure. You’ll visit nomadic families, where you will learn about their cattle-based lifestyle and enjoy some traditional tea.

Afterward, you’ll also explore the mysterious Mifiss Mines, an intriguing ghost town that used to be an active coal mine. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the desert like a true adventurer and experience some real Moroccan desert culture.

After breakfast, you’ll explore the bustling Rissani Market. An authentic busy market with over 600 stalls and a Donkey parking lot. Make sure to haggle with the local vendors and don’t forget to snag some traditional handicrafts, clothing, and jewellery. Next you will hop back in the bus, driving through the picturesque Draa Valley, before stopping by at the Atlas Studio, one of the largest film studios in the world. After, you’ll arrive at your next destination for the night.

Wake up and smell the fresh Moroccan coffee – it’s time for another adventure. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you’ll pass through the High Atlas Mountains and arrive at the Ait Ben Haddou Village. These studios are world-famous for being the filming locations of films like Game of Thrones was filmed. You will tour the studios, revealing the secrets behind some of the most famous scenes in movie history.

After arriving in Marrakech, it’s time for a cooking class at the Tawsna Women association, whose goal is to preserve and promote traditional and culinary traditions in the region. What better way to end the final night of tour with your new travel besties, celebrating and empowering the local women of Marrakech!
