Covid Safety
COVID SAFETY
We are living in unprecedented times that have caused major disruption to the travel industry and changed life as we know it. One Life Adventures has been providing transformational travel experiences for many years now and this time spent on pause has allowed us to spend many hours behind the scenes working on making your next life changing adventure as safe as possible.
We are committed to ensuring that we resume operations in a safe & responsible way, making the health & safety of our customers, suppliers and staff a priority, while ensuring that we continue to deliver on our promise of offering unique and highly inclusive tours for our customers.
The COVID-19 pandemic has so far caused an enormous amount of disruption with international borders closed, entire communities & countries in varying degrees of lockdown, multiple industries in decline, a healthcare crisis and overwhelming degrees of need. However, as countries start to succeed in stabilizing the outbreak, travel restrictions are easing as governments attempt to reopen tourism gradually and provide a stimulus to the economy. Any changes we make to our tours will be in addition to our existing health & safety minimum standards.
We’re making travel as flexible as possible and ensuring the maximum standards of safety are met, so that you can book your next trip with the peace of mind that you’ll be supported by us throughout the entirety of your experience.
One Life Adventures tours are currently suspended until 1 May 2021.Â
Any customer booked onto these trips will have received communication from us via email,  if you have not received this for any reason, then please check your junk folder and contact us at enquiries@onelifeadventures.com
What you get
WORRY FREE DEPARTURE
Although we recommend all customers do their own research on their chosen destination and any restrictions in place prior to departure, we will be providing as much information as we can in our pre-departure packs so you can prepare for your trip with peace of mind. In the event you have any questions, our reservations team will be on hand to help assist you and will be up to date on any restrictions you need to be aware of prior to departing for your life changing adventure.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
We have made necessary changes to our tours to ensure that social distancing measures are in place to keep you, your trip mates, your group leader and the communities you travel through safe. We have reduced our maximum capacity on each tour* in order to achieve this (this is subject to change as restrictions ease throughout countries), and are working closely with all suppliers to ensure social distancing is maintained when taking part in activities, staying in accommodations, travelling in vehicles and eating in restaurants.
*Due to the lower transmission risk in Japan, group numbers will remain capped at 22 people per tour.
HYGIENE & SANITATION
Along with the use of masks, social distancing measures and hand hygiene, we are working closely with all of our suppliers to ensure strict sanitation methods are in place in all accommodations, transport vehicles and restaurants. All our guests will be adequately prepared for hygiene requirements by their group leaders and will receive information on handwashing, mask wearing and general hygiene measures in their pre-departure packs.
EXPERIENCED ONE LIFE ADVENTURES TEAM
Our group leaders are award winning and as always will be there to give you the trip of a lifetime. They’ll be available to answer any questions you have and to support you through your trip so you can rest easy and enjoy it to the fullest! We will be providing additional COVID-19 training to all One Life Adventures staff, group leaders, affiliated partners and anyone involved in the running of our group tours to ensure that everyone is adhering to local and One Life Adventures operating and hygiene standards. All group leaders will be tested for COVID-19 between each tour and depending on local regulations, customers may also be required to show a negative test result on arrival.
KEEPING YOU SAFE
In order to ensure your safety & that of everyone else involved in our trips, we will adhere to all local and national requirements to reduce the risk of infection and aid in contact tracing if necessary. All customers will receive information in their pre-departure packs in case their trip is likely to include necessary COVID-19 testing before being able to pass through immigration and/or board planes. We will also require customers to fill out an online questionnaire prior to joining the group, so we can identify any high risk individuals.
Covid FAQs
Will I need to provide a negative COVID test to join a One Life Adventures tour?
You won’t be required to show a negative COVID test specifically to join our tours, but this is likely to be a requirement for entering any one of the countries we operate in. You will be required to fill in a health questionnaire before you can meet up with the group.
How crowded will the tours be?
We have reduced all tour sizes and capped our numbers at 12 people* per group to allow for adequate social distancing on our trips. We are working closely with all our suppliers to ensure social distancing is maintained in accommodations*, restaurants and when using private transport.
*due to the low risk in Japan, group numbers will remain capped at 22 people per tour, and these numbers are subject to change as restrictions are eased.
How many people will I be sharing a room with?
Our tours have always been primarily twin & multishare. If you’ve upgraded to a single room then you’ll have a private room, but if you’re booked onto our standard packages you’ll be sharing with one other person. We have adjusted our room bookings in as many locations as possible to make it twin share where we can, but in a small number of destinations, like the temple stay in Japan, multi-share will continue.
Will I need to bring a mask, hand sanitiser and alcohol wipes?
We do advise that every member of the group wears a face mask, and practices good hygiene as much as is feasible. We recommend that you bring your own, but we are working closely with all our suppliers, transport and accommodation providers to ensure that our health and safety standard are met. We will be making reusable face masks available for purchase & these will be made of bamboo fibres in line with our sustainability policies.
If my trip is cancelled ahead of time, will I get a refund?
If your trip is cancelled by us, we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we can with all the options you have available to you. Your money will automatically be converted to 100% trip credit which can be used at a later date.
What happens if my trip is cancelled while I’m on it?
If for any reason your trip is cancelled while you’re on it, we will do everything we can to ensure your safe return to your home country and will provide travel credit on a pro-rata basis for the days missed. This is in the event of sudden border closures, or positive cases within your travel bubble, for example. We have years of experience operating in these destinations, and along with our in-country teams, we’ll ensure you are provided with as much support as possible.
One Life Adventures reserves the right to change or amend these terms at any time. Decisions surrounding departures and maximum capacity is up to the discretion of One Life Adventures and will be made in accordance with local laws and with the health and safety of our guests, staff and the local communities in mind.
