My journey as a guide began with my love for meeting people and storytelling. And this job lets me bring those passions to life.

Becoming a tour guide was not only a career choice for me but a calling rooted in a lifelong passion for exploring my beautiful home and sharing it with others. My journey as a tour guide is a blend of storytelling, history, culture, and a deep appreciation for the beauty and diversity that different places hold. It’s a role that allows me to inspire people to step out of their comfort zones, connect with new cultures and discover the unknown.

One of my favorite parts of being a tour guide is connecting with people from all over the world. Each group brings a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, and I tailor my approach to make every tour feel personalized and fun. Whether it’s sharing my favorite local spot (Port Barton) or answering questions about the culture and traditions, I aim to create experiences that feel both informative and exciting.

The role isn’t without its challenges. From managing diverse group dynamics to handling last-minute itinerary changes due to typhoons, I’ve learned to stay adaptable and calm under pressure. But these moments often lead to the most memorable experiences.

At the end of the day, being a tour guide allows me to bring joy to others while deepening my own appreciation for everything. I’m not just sharing facts or guiding people from place to place. I’m helping them connect with a place on a deeper level. Every tour I lead is a new chapter in my own story, filled with laughter, discoveries, and unforgettable experiences. Every time I see a look of wonder on a guest’s face, I know that I’ve done my job well.

I am grateful to be in a role that not only allows me to share my love for where I came from but also lets me make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I guide.

Vietnam Tour Guide

Hi everyone – Xin chào
I am Đăng (you can call me Danny). I’m from Vietnam and I’m Vietnamese (100% haha). My hometown is Hue City which used to be Vietnam’s capital from 1802 to 1945. I work for One Life Adventures as a tour guide, leading groups around Vietnam.

I’ve been a tour guide for more than 12 years, mostly guiding in destinations around my country. I was first inspired to become a tour guide when I met another guide in a hotel where I was working as a receptionist. They were picking up guests for a tour. After applying for a lot of documents and going through tests I was able to receive my official tour guide license! I happily became an English Speaking Tour Guide.

These days after going through additional One Life training I’m proud to be a One Life Adventures Vietnam tour leader. When you travel with me – Danny – on a One Life Adventures tour, I will show you:

• How beautiful and multicultural Vietnam is with my extensive knowledge and informative guiding style that will bring you very close to understanding Vietnam.
• How friendly Vietnamese people are! With my kindness, helpfulness, and efforts to make heartfelt connections.
• How happy and joyful you can feel – I will enrich your trip with my funny manner and sense of humour with my family stories and from local everyday life. I’ll make the trip enjoyable, unforgettable and worthwhile.
• How flexible and relaxed you’ll feel! With my high level of preparation and organisation, my great enthusiasm, and my flexibility in overcoming challenges (if there are any!).
• How safe you’ll feel and well connected between one another. I will be the glue of our group. I have a willingness to help and to inform you with anything you need.
• How delicious Vietnamese food can be! With my careful selection, recommendations, and descriptions of meals in detail throughout the trip.

Japan Head Tour Guide

Hello,
I’m Dale, Head Tour Guide in Japan.
I have always had a huge passion for Japan, everything here just feels magic. You can order your meals via a vending machine, there is a cute mascot for absolutely everything. It just doesn’t feel real. No matter how long I spend in Japan there is always something new that surprises me.
I am really passionate about sharing great experiences with people. If the people around me are having fun I just bounce off of that energy. So when I had the opportunity to run group tours through Japan it was a dream come true. As much as I love Japan, the best part of the tour is getting to know all of the guests. Over the length of the tour we start out as strangers but by the end it really feels like we are one big family.
Although I have spent over a year running tours I still wake up excited everyday knowing that I get to share another amazing part of Japan with my group. I love sharing the history of old traditional towns like Takayama, walking through streets that haven’t changed in over 200 years. You really feel like you have travelled back in time.
